No Battle Too Big

Standing for our veterans:

As a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, Will understands that caring for our nation’s veterans and their families is one of our most sacred responsibilities. For too long, Washington has fallen short on its promises to our veterans and, if elected, Will is committed to ensuring that every veteran who stood for our country has representation standing for them in Congress. From increasing health care options for female veterans, to reducing rates of veteran suicide, decreasing wait times at VA medical facilities, combatting the prevalence of homelessness, and ensuring veterans can obtain good-paying jobs after separating from the service, Will won’t rest until our veterans receive the benefits they deserve from our eternally grateful nation.

FIGHtING FOR TERM LIMITS:

For nine years, Will Sheehan served our country as a Naval Intelligence Officer - deploying overseas and working directly with leaders in the White House. For fourteen years, the 8th District has been represented by the same member of Congress - and the results speak for themselves. It’s time for a fighter in Washington, and Will understands that we need a problem solver, not the continuation of problematic leadership. For Will, the mission to build a better future always comes first, which is why he will fight to ensure term limits become a reality in Congress.

Ensuring Quality Education:

As the son of a public school teacher, Will understands first-hand the importance of a quality education. Every child deserves to have access to great schools and teachers, however, too often students are restricted from educational opportunities because of where they live. In order to succeed in today’s ever-changing economy, we must do more to ensure that every student, from any background, from every zip code, can receive a degree that sets them up for great jobs in the future. To accomplish this, Will is committed to fighting against the Trump administration’s proposed budget cuts for public schools and public school teachers. Will also plans to create a federal program that provides financial assistance to school districts like Jersey City to alleviate budget deficits and prevent mass teacher layoffs. Additionally, Will pledges to expand vocational education programs, and combat the rising costs of higher education through the creation of federally funded initiatives that provide stipends for students to receive a college degree in exchange for five years of employment in the public sector.
